With the swine flu finally settling down some, it is almost too hard to believe that just a few months ago it was in full swing. When the swine flu first appeared in April of 2009, the American population was, to say the least, a little freaked out. Now that more is known about the swine flu, everybody is a little more at ease. But what if there was to be another outbreak? How do you prevent yourself from getting the swine flu? How would you know that you have the swine flu?
Swine Flu
With the swine flu finally settling down some, it is almost too hard to believe that just a few months ago it was in full swing. When the swine flu first appeared in April of 2009, the American population was, to say the least, a little freaked out. Now that more is known about the swine flu, everybody is a little more at ease. But what if there was to be another outbreak? How do you prevent yourself from getting the swine flu? How would you know that you have the swine flu?
Some prevention techniques for not getting the swine flu are to WASH WASH WASH your hands often! Bacteria is on every living surface, you just may be in contact with the virus and never know it. So wash your hands frequently. If soap and water are not in reach, then use hand sanitizer. DO NOT use hand sanitizer as a replacement for washing your hands. Another quite simple way for the prevention of Swine Flu is to live a healthy lifestyle. Believe it or not, eating healthy, exercising and being well rested are a great way to stay healthy!
Symptoms of the swine flu are very similar to the seasonal flu. Symptoms include runny nose, fever, coughing, and sore throat. But in addition to that, individuals may experience lethargy, body aches and diarrhea. Most people, who have swine flu, encounter at least two or more of these symptoms. So if you are experiencing any of these symptoms, make an appointment to see your physician as soon as possible!
But of course, the easiest way to prevent yourself from getting swine flu is to GET VACCINATED! Getting the swine flu vaccination is the most sure-fire way to be free of this virus. The vaccine is readily available in most doctors’ offices and even in some local Walgreen’s. They come in the traditional shot form and in the new nasal form. So GET YOUR VACCINATION TODAY!
